Community Communion

First Congregational Church in Bristol, Rhode Island is pleased to partner with the Family Equality Council for a morning Holy Communion and Prayer service. The United Church of Christ is the most progressive Christian denomination in the U.S. and all are welcome to this service. The Holy Communion table is open to everyone.

Some games, stories, sing-alongs, and healthy refreshments provided.

Beach Campfire Night

This is a beloved highlight of Family Week and not to be missed! Bring beach gear, a picnic dinner, and leave room for dessert! Join us around three different campfires for s'mores and family fun. Zoe Lewis and her band will return to perform again this year, thanks to the support of Friends of the National Seashore.

FREE parking is available at Herring Cove Beach after 5 pm. Reminder: there is no climbing on the dunes allowed, they are protected habitats.

Art on the Lawn

Art on the Lawn is back for the 2018 summer season! Join the Provincetown Public Library for a fun and interactive summer arts and crafts experience for children of all ages.  The front lawn of the historic Library building will be transformed into a creative space for kids to experiment with different materials, while exploring their own artistic imaginations. To showcase each child’s own artistic self-expression, kids will be encouraged to use different mediums, selected by the library, to decorate a large blank canvas with their own creations.  Potential mediums include paint, crayons, chalk, finger-paint, and markers.  The kids will love it!

Big Ryan's Tall Tales

Big Ryan’s Tall Tales, an annual Provincetown favorite, will return to the Library Children’s Area.  The program features Big Ryan’s original stories, puppet play, a bit of music and movement and a whole lot of fun! Big Ryan’s programs are appropriate for preschool all the way to 5th grade. The program runs about 45 minutes but has been known to sometimes go a full hour! This program is sponsored by the Provincetown Board of Library Trustees.

Dolphin Fleet Whale Watch

Join us as LGBTQ families fill a boat for spectacular whale watching. Reserve tickets for the 9:30 am trip on Friday, August 3rd by call 1-800-826-9300 and mentioning “Family Week.” Payment taken with reservation to help with delays. It is recommended that families go to the office ahead of time to pick up tickets to avoid delays and lines. Reserve ahead to make sure you have space on the boat! Special Family Week rate of $42pp for ages 13+, $31pp for ages 5 – 12, and free for everyone under 4 years old.

Animal World Experience will visit the Provincetown Public Library to provide a fun, interactive, and educational animal presentation to audiences of all ages. The program will focus on local and exotic wildlife, the importance of protecting endangered species, and responsible pet ownership. Founder Matt Gabriel creates an animal presentation that is entertaining and also helps the audience to develop respect and awareness for animals of all kinds. This program is sponsored by the Provincetown Board of Library Trustees
