Community & Connection: A Note on Affinity Spaces
Family Week isn’t only about fun in the sun — it’s also about finding community and connection with LGBTQ+ families! All throughout the week, we’ll be hosting the following affinity gatherings so you can meet families who share your identity and lived experience in a safe and inclusive space.
“Let’s be honest: most spaces weren’t built for families like ours. The default is white. The culture is heteronormative. The vibe is exclusion masked as politeness.
“So what do we do? We show up. We gather. We laugh. We name the hard stuff. We celebrate the brilliance of our kids, our stories, and our identities. We turn these sterile ‘neutral’ spaces into something alive. Something radically inclusive. Something ours.
“The Family Equality BIPOC Parents Affinity Space isn’t just a meeting. It’s a gathering of energy, resistance, and joy. It’s where chosen family meets collective power. And it needs you there — fully, unapologetically, beautifully you. Come for the connection. Stay for the revolution.
“Join me on Monday July 28 at 11am at Crown & Anchor.”
