Optional Youth Camps

IMPORTANT: you must be registered for Family Week to sign up for the youth camps listed below.

This summer there are multiple morning and afternoon camps for youth of different ages. Each camp is run by a community partner just for Family Week families. Each camp partner sets their own schedule and fee structure. Please read each camp description to check the days, times, and fee.

COLAGE camp is almost 100% full, so to support all the youth on the waiting list and at Family Week, Family Equality and COLAGE have teamed up to add these new camps to the Family Week schedule.

Registration will open on April 1, 2019.

Morning Whale Camp

The Center for Coastal Studies is once again offering a camp for kids! This camp gives kids the opportunity to learn about the wonderful world of whales and oceans. Each day will hold new fun activities and exciting new things to learn. From inspecting a whale skeleton to taking a closer look at what we can find in a tidal pool, campers will learn together.

Registration is capped at 15 kids. Monday to Wednesday, 10:30 am - 12 pm.

Ages: 6 - 8

Morning Theater Camp

Fishermen Hall is offering a theater camp for kids for a second year. Led by professional theater and music instructors, this camp will take youth through the steps for a show and end with a performance up on stage! Theater Camp participants will break into small groups to rotate through workshops on music, acting, and dance.

Registration is capped at 30 kids.Monday to Thursday, 10:30 am - 12 pm

Ages: 5 - 8

Morning Art Camp

The Provincetown Art Association Museum is hosting Art Camp for a second year! Join Michael Gillane for a week of fun, hands-on projects. Each day brings a new project to explore and experiment with! Begin the week with 2D drawing, painting, and printmaking, getting inspiration from both observation and imagination. Close out the week with 3D sculpting projects. Freedom of expression will be emphasized! There will be helpers in the room to aid with varying degrees of complexity in the projects.

Registration is capped at 25 kids. Monday to Thursday, 10 am - 12 pm.

Ages: 5 -8

Morning HBO Kids Camp

HBO Kids and The Provincetown Film Society are offering a camp for the fourth year. Children will alternate between watching educational short videos in the theater and enjoying creative projects and games. Activities organized by Cape Cod Children's Place early childhood education professionals. Thanks to HBO Kids, this program is free but registration is required. If you register for this camp, your child will be guaranteed a spot during Family Week. All children must be potty-trained to attend.

Registration capped at 30 kids.Monday to Thursday, 10:30 am - 12 pm.

Afternoon HBO Kids Camp

HBO Kids and The Provincetown Film Society are offering a camp for the fourth year. Afternoon Improv Camp

IMPROVincetown is offering an improv workshop for youth. What is improv? Improv teaches you to think on your toes, follow the fun and play until you laugh, snort, and ugly cry. Youth will learn improv games, gain confidence while making new friends, and create fun characters to bring to life on stage. This class is for all—new performers are encouraged to attend!

Registration is capped at 30 youth. Monday to Thursday, 2 - 4 pm.

Age: 8 – 12

Afternoon Art Camp

The Provincetown Art Association Museum is hosting a new afternoon Art Camp! Don’t miss this fiber arts and puppet making workshop with artist H. Gene Thompson. Students will build a deeper understanding of relating to puppets—as an artist, as a creator, and as a puppeteer. They will collaborate to develop characters who will interact in a performance space and with other sculptural elements. Using a range of materials including papier mâché, foam, paint, and fabric dye, they will create puppets who come to life through innovation and creativity.

Afternoon Camp Highlight

Camp Highlight, an annual summer camp for youth with LGBTQ+ parents, is offering a special camp during Family Week. Youth will enjoy traditional summer camp games, crafts, and activities.

Registration is capped at 25 kids. Monday to Thursday, 2 - 4 pm.
